Happy Birthday Constance Cummings!

Constance Cummings.
Constance Cummings was an American-born British actress born on May 15th, 1910 in Seattle Washington. She was discovered by Samuel Goldwyn and was brought to Hollywood in 1931. Between 1931 and 1934 she made over 20 movies. One of them, which I watched recently, was titled The Mind Reader (1933) co-starring Warren William. The first movie I saw her in was Haunted Honeymoon (1940) co-starring my favorite actor Robert Montgomery! I thought that she was lovely. She also starred in the 1945 David Lean's classic Blithe Spirit (1945). I still need to watch this one.

After working in Hollywood for over a decade, she moved her residence to England and worked on both the stage and in films there. In January of 1974, Constance was made a Commander of the Order of British Empire (CBE), for her contributions to the British entertainment industry.

Constance was a beautiful, talented, and is often a forgotten actress. She has received some recognition recently. Constance even had a day of her movies shown on TCM for Summer Under the Stars on TCM in August of 2016! I definitely want to watch more of her films!
